Winning it: The ladder decides the top 8, then 4 weeks of finals: the AFL final eight — qualifying finals 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd (the losers get a second chance), elimination finals 5th v 8th and 6th v 7th, then semis, preliminary finals and the grand final. More points in the round goes through; a tie or a washed-out final goes to the higher-placed side.
